Jeep-focused vehicle diagnostics
OBD JScan is a diagnostic app for Jeep, Dodge and Chrysler vehicles. It connects through a compatible OBD adapter to read fault codes and display live sensor data. It is best suited to owners, enthusiasts and independent repairers who want access to more than basic engine-code scanning.
More than emission codes
The app can identify vehicle modules and show details such as the VIN and module part numbers. Depending on the vehicle, it can scan systems including ABS, automatic transmission, steering column, radio, HVAC and sway-bar control. Codes can be read, cleared and shared, while live data helps track sensor readings during checks.
JScan also exposes configuration options on supported vehicles. These can include tire size, axle ratio and daytime-running-light settings. The available systems and settings depend on the vehicle model and control modules fitted, so it is not a universal scan tool for every make.
Vehicle coverage and connection notes
Listed coverage includes Jeep Wrangler JK, JL and JT, Grand Cherokee, Commander, Liberty, Compass and Patriot models, along with various Dodge and Chrysler vehicles such as the Ram, Challenger, Charger, Durango, Journey, 300 and Town & Country. Some newer vehicles, including certain 2018-and-later models and the Wrangler JL/JT, require a security-gateway bypass cable.
The app is intended for use with supported Bluetooth or Wi-Fi ELM327 adapters, including Vgate and OBDLink models. Cheap ELM327 clones, particularly units marked v2.1, may cause connection problems. Checking adapter and vehicle compatibility before relying on a diagnostic result is sensible.
